Reliable transport operations begin with thoroughly tested equipment — and this assurance is confirmed on the RER – Riga Electrical Machinery Factory test benches.
The tests provide a comprehensive check of:
- Electric Machines — DC traction motors up to 250 kW / 1500 V, asynchronous motors up to 500 kW / 2500 V, synchronous generators up to 1 MW.
- Electrical Equipment — switching current up to 3 kA / 4000 V, endurance at 1000 A / 4000 V, short-circuit resistance up to 10 kA.
- Vagon power supply systems — comprehensive testing from 50 to 380 V (control panels, undercarriage boxes, generators, batteries, loads).
- Wear resistance — vibration and impact resistance up to 350 kg, climatic testing from –50 °C to +80 °C, humidity 10–99%.
- Traction systems — electrical equipment sets for trams, trolleybuses, metro, and electric trains with DC catenary voltage up to 3 kV, as well as equipment for railway systems with 25 kV AC supply.
- Additional testing — noise and vibration measurement, enclosure testing for IP protection rating.
