RER presents a new asynchronous traction motor designed explicitly for next-generation urban trams.

Built with a welded-batch construction, the motor offers high mechanical strength and reliability for continuous operation in demanding city environments. With a rated power of 500 kW, it ensures confident acceleration and stable traction across the entire speed range.

The motor utilises Class 200 heat-resistant insulation, enabling the windings to withstand the elevated temperatures characteristic of intensive urban service. Its electrical performance meets modern standards, featuring linear supply voltage of 430 V, a power factor of 0.872, and 94% efficiency — all contributing to lower energy losses and reduced operating costs.

A key feature is its optimized core, made from laminated steel and welded for extra thermal stability. This design minimizes eddy current losses and improves overall efficiency.

Reliable, cost-effective, and built to last — RER’s new motor is an innovative solution for the future of municipal transport.
